Nickel Plating

Description

Nickel plating is the application of a layer of nickel to the surface of an object. The purpose is generally to improve corrosion resistance, either for decorative reasons or as a base for other electroplated coatings.

Nickel is most often used with steel objects.

A durable coating is achieved by first coating with a thick layer of copper, as an intermediate layer to improve adhesion of steel and nickel.
