Helical Spring

Description

Coil springs are subject to axial tension and compression forces. In both cases, the main direction of the load follows the direction of the spring axis. The spring wire section is subject to torsional stresses under load. Most coil springs have non-resistant spring coils and end coils.

Coil springs have a wide variety of uses. Depending on the purpose, its properties can be modified using different wire diameters and materials, inclinations and spring diameters.

Materials with high resistance values, such as steel, which also do not lose their shape. Those springs that operate in corrosive environments require stainless steel wire in their manufacture, to increase their resistance.

Material diameters: The manufacturing range is from .008 ”(.20mm) to 2” (50.8mm).

CARBON STEELS: MBII ASTM A227, PIANO ASTM A228, OT ASTM A229, CRSI ASTM A401, MACHINERY GRADE STAINLESS STEELS: T-302, T-304, T-310, T-316, 17-7PH.
